Doesn't work My puppy is on Frontline Plus for flea control but we bought this shampoo because we were still seeing a flea on her every now and then. This product smells good but it doesn't actually kill fleas. I found a flea on my pup on monday gave her a bath with this shampoo following directions etc and tuesday when I checked my pup I found another flea on her. This product does not kill fleas for up to 10 days. Currently looking for something more effective.
Works just as described After reading several reviews about this product online I was a little nervous about buying it but thought I would give it a try anyway. I am glad I did. Our pug gets fleas really bad. We have another dog and cat in the house and they rarely get them. The shampoo arrived and I was finally able to wash her with it. As soon as the soap went on her the fleas started to fall off. After letting it sit for the 5 min it says to she was flea free. I checked her a few min ago and found that she is still flea free today 1 day after washing her. I am glad I tried this one and will be buying it from now on.

  • Three applications per carton

  • Natural active ingredients

  • Flea and tick squeeze-on for cats

  • This does not work at all I put this on my 3 cats in April as I was looking for a natural way to get rid of the fleas. I can't believe the fleas didn't flee as I and the cats wanted to so desperately to get away from the smell. Needless to say the fleas did not flee but actually got worse. None of the cats have lasting adverse reactions but they had a strong opinion regarding the smell as did I. Do not waste your money on this.
Severe allergic reation!!! This product made my eyes sinuses and lips swell! My throat and lungs to burn. Redness and burning around the eyes. Red eyes. This was just from being around the product and breathing it in! Washed my dogs again and bedding. But did not eliminate the product and its smell. Would not recommend! Toxic to people most likely to dogs too. I threw the box away..but know that vanillin is an irritant and one other chemical ingredient I don't recall is too.
Avoid this product! It made me ill. I purchased this product at a local chain pet store and immediately put it on all three of my cats as directed. Oh my goodness what a noxious smell! At first I thought it was just Christmasy if a bit too much but the smell seems to get worse with time and it is very distinctly unpleasant. The cats were very unhappy and are an oily mess a full 24 hours later. I would wash it off them but they are acting very aggressive and angry and hiding out under beds. The whole house reeks but the worse part is that the fumes or the oil I got on me treating the cats are making me dizzy and nauseous. I woke up this morning with the room spinning and was so dizzy I could barely stumble to the bathroom in time for the vomiting. I thought it might be flu but I felt almost immediate relief when I went outside. I went out as planned and after being out of the house for only an hour I felt completely well it was like I hadn't been sick. Upon returning home hours later I again started feeling nauseous and developed a headache.
Very Pleased! I have been using this product for about a year now. I do apply all year long. Please follow the instructions on where to put the oil to keep the cat from ingesting after applying. My cat stays free from fleas I watch the calendar and retreat right before or at the 30 day mark. I use the natural defese shampoo on my doganother great product.I am free from the concern of putting chmicals on my pet that can cause cancers and neurological dysfunctions.**Final statement just because it is natural does not mean safe to ingest follow the instructions closely! There is even a 1800 number on the insert if you have problems.
Had to take my cat to the vet after using this product! We purchased this product from a different store but I'm posting my review everywhere I can! This product made my cat vomit and very lethargic. After reading the ingredients I see that clove oil is used. Clove oil BURNS skin. I also read online that peppermint oil is harmful to cats. The label also said that this product should not be used on humans or domestic animalsWhat the Hell!? You should where protective eye gear and gloves while using this product. If I have to suitup to use this productWhy in the world should I be putting it on my cat! Next time I'll know to read my labels and do more research And to never by a product with 'Sentry' written on the label.
Fleas no more We were given two kittens a little over a year ago. A few months later we bought a couch at a yard sale leading to a flea infestation. We tried every product imaginable before Sentry Natural Defense. We've been using this product on them once a month for almost a year. The flea problem is gone and we have two happy cats. They are Calico and have a little bit of white around their neck area. With any flea product they had a little bit of staining in the white parts. I wouldn't consider it a problem since it happened before but a warning for those who have white cats.
    do not purchase!
Very strong smelling! So I applied this to my cats BEFORE I read reviews. Afterward I read all the reviews. I washed my cats thoroughly with Baby Shampoo. It was VERY strong smelling and it made one of my cats very irritated at the eyes. I am hoping that bathing them within an hour of applying the stuff will help reduce any negative effects that my cats may experience. I love them very much and I hope I am not the cause of liver or kidney failure. Right now they are drying themselves off from the bath. I'll post again in a few days if they suffer sever effects. If they don't this will be my only post. I don't suggest you buy this product if it has all of these awful reviews and has hurt and killed so many cats.
If zero stars were possible I would! Like others I wanted to find a natural alternative for my indoor cat JUST in case the dogs brought in some fleas. After appying this product 2 hours later I heard my cat doing a guteral growl and in places she never usually goes. I didn't think much about it until I went to feed her and she was not interested That NEVER happens. I chalked it up to her being mad about the oily substance and went to bed. The next morning I found huge clump of fur all over the house and found my poor cat had SEVERE chemical burns where this poduct was applied.
DO NOT EVER USE!!!! I bought this product at Pet Smart!!! I thought it would be a really good considering it had only essential oils in it. Well think again!! This stuff made my smaller female 2 years old foam at the mouth and freak out. She was a kitty I had never met. It took me and my mother to bathe her. I bathed my other 3 cats as well another large male and started to foam by the time it was his turn for a bath. I will never use this stuff again and I returned it immediately. We told Pet Smart they are selling a product that is absolutely toxic to cats. We got a full refund and went to a holistic pet store nearby. So far our cats are doing ok no burns or hair loss I will be watching it for a few more days and if anything happens we will take them to the vet.

  • Weeks later it's still working Usually there are a lot of fleas and ticks in the yard around this time of year Mid June. Not this time. I sprayed the yard around the end of May during the evening and there are no fleas or ticks jumping on me. I also let the cat out for sunshine. No fleas or ticks jumping on her either. I'm enjoying it while it lasts. Hope it lasts the rest of the summer. P.S. Remember to spread this stuff around like a wild child so you can cover the promised 4500 sqr ft. When hooked into full pressure from your garden hose this stuff will disappear in a few minutes. You can tell it's spreading because of the bubbles and foam which is from the sodium lauryl sulfate my only pet peeve about this product. Is the SLS really necessary in killing the fleas and ticks? I'm guessing it's the best carrier mechanism for the natural ingredients. Nothing has gotten sick or died yet so I guess it's OK as long as you don't spray this stuff in your eyes. Wear goggles when spreading this esp. if you're clumsy.
Good product This product worked great getting rid of my flea problem. I have to dogs and the fleas were killing them. Sprayed the yard once with this product and the fleas diminished greatly. Fast shipping.
Goodbye to ticks This year 2012 seemed to be a bad year for ticks here in north Jersey. Had a few doubts about using a natural product for ticks but decided to try Vet's Best. After the first spray in our paddock we found one tick on one of our dogs. Decided to try it again and resprayed a second time and from there on the ticks did not reappear. This product has a pleasant aroma and goes on easily using the hose sprayer and I would definitely use it again without hesitation.

  • Noooooo! I hate giving bad reviews but I bought for all 3 of my dogs 3 different weights and it didn't kill ONE flea. They are still crawling all over my dogs 3 weeks later. So Sad.
BioSpot for dogs I've used this product for cats in the past and found it to be as effective and far more reasonably priced than other flea products. So far it seems to be doing the job on my puppy.
Does nothing. This product is completely ineffective. You'd be better off taking the cash out of your wallet and setting fire to it.
bio spot doesn't work This product didn't kill one flea on my poor dog. I had to make her wait 20 days after application before I could put on another product. This product caused much suffering for both my dog and our family.
If fleas are your only problem BioSpot works great! If you are only dealing with flea BioSpot works wonderfully! When I moved to South Carolina my pup immediately got infested with fleas and after doing some research I decided to try BioSpot. It worked wonders in a very short period of time and I never had a flea problem again in South Carolina and most other bugs didn't bother her either. However we moved again to a high tickpopulation area in Virginia and BioSpot didn't work quite as well for ticks. While my dog still doesn't have fleas she has a tick issue for sure. For example in the last four days I picked 16 ticks off the poor little dog. While most of these ticks were dead when I got them off they had still bit her and embedded in her skin which isn't good considering the bacteria many of them carry. I plan on trying K9 Advantix now to try to repel ticks instead of just kill them after they hang on to my dog for a while.Bottom line If you just need to get rid of fleas and keep general nuisance bugs away BioSpot works really well and is cost effective.
biospot for dogs have used this product for several years on 5 to 85 pound dogs it does not irritate their skin and works great but you do have to follow the directions to get good results.
Not too impressed This product does not work as long as it should but it does work for about 2 weeks. That's how long I didn't see a live flea on my dog.
    POOR DOG!!
Worked better than Frontline and Advantage! This is all I use for flea/tick prevention. A couple of years ago my small yorkiepoo got fleas b/c we forgot the Frontline for one month. I went to the vet to buy Advantage and after 2 applications she still had live fleas on her. I finally got some Bio Spot and within hours of applying it I couldn't find any more fleas on her. Since then 2 years it's all we use on our dog. With monthly applications we've never had another flea on our dogs.

  • Easy To Apply & Does The Job We recently started taking 3 of our indoor cats for walks on leashes so we decided to protect them from the little nasties of the outdoors. After doing a bit of research recommendations from our vet and price comparison shopping we chose Frontline Top Spot. It's a godsend for people with skittish cats! Our oldest is really squirmy when we try to apply topical stuff to her but she was so at ease with the applicator. I definitely will purchase this again.
Not going to buy again I am not going to buy pet meds online anymore. My mothers cats got poisoned from this stuff and I've never had any problems from buying from a pet store.
Excellent Product! Frontline Top Spot for cats is the best product I have found and I have tried half a dozen. The cheaper products remain on the surface of my cats' fur for days while Top Spot disappears in 24 hours or less. No more oily smudge on the back of our cats' neck. This seller provides the same high quality product that our Vet sells but for half the price including shipping. I don't know how they do that but I'm glad I found them on Amazon.
Great Kills Ticks and Fleas Works great and is very effictive for my two cats. I find it last longer that a month. I do the second dose 30 days after the first the third dose 40 days later and the forth and on dose 45 days later. Because it works for pleas and ticks I like it better than the other products.
Worked In A Day Just took a day. My cat was riddled with fleas and the night after I put this on my cat.. I could visably see the fleas running away from the spot I applied it. They ran in all directions. It was freaky gross. Some ran across my poor cats face but they were running away.It was a long night watching the process. I stayed with my cat through the whole thing. He was scratching more than ever since the fleas were actively on the move over his body. He'd scratch then shake and fleas went flying off him. He was on my large white desk so when fleas fell off they were easy to see. Each one that fell off was still alive but dying. I made sure to kill them and clean the area with cleaning solution in case eggs were flying around too.LITERALLY the next morning my cat was sound asleep still comfortable. He wasn't itching. It was amazing. When he was awake I cleared him and his stuff food/water/toys etc from the room and fogged it with a Raid Concentrated Fogger found on Amazong here[] The 3 applications are to be spread out over 3 months. It's been 2 weeks since his first application and it seems he doesn't need another one but I will apply it anyway for preventative measures.
Great product This product works really well!! I needed something to keep the ticks off my kittyhe likes to roam through the brush and wooded areas around my home. Didn't pull one tick off him in 4 months.
3 Indoor Cats with Fleasnot very useful This particular product didn't do anything for my 3 indoor cats who sporadically got fleas. The fleas loved my kitten and he was covered. We washed them and applied the product and the fleas were back on the next day. The next time around I bought Frontline Plus from Amazon and that worked right away. I don't know if this was an old batch or maybe the Plus made a difference although I thought it just protected against ticks as well but either way I wouldn't buy this one again. I only spent a few more dollars for the plus version and it was worth EVERY penny.
Disappointed I have three indoor only cats. We have never had fleas until very recently when the area around our complex's dumpster got infested. The fleas must have hitch hiked on my ankles because my townhouse is now completely infested with them. I bought the Frontline to use in conjunction with the $100+ spent on spraying the house and yard top to bottom and all the smelly shampoos. Sad to say the fleas are still sucking my cats dry.
Safest for my cat This is the only product I will use on my cat. All other brands irritate his skin. Merial is definitely the best and worth paying for.
This is Frontline Topspot not Frontline Plus I use Frontline because it works though I would prefer no chemicals at all. I have one cat very sensitive to the chemicals and in the past he reacted to Advantage Imidacloprid and to Frontline Plus. This is Frontine Topspot it only has one drug fipronil. Frontline Plus has an additional drug methprene that also affects earlier stage fleas. It is that second chemical which upsets my cat so I only use the Topspot. However if your cat can take it and you have flea issues then use the Frontline Plus which is supposed to be better at keeping the environment free of ticks. When there is a flea infestation in the house and/or outdoors using frontline is only one piece of the solution. Some years ago I called Merial with the serial numbers etc wondering if the product had expired. No. It was patience and diligence to get the flea situation controlled.Frontline topspot also kills ticks alas they sit for almost a day and sometimes I pluck them off with a special tick remover into a jar of alcohol.I use Frontline Topspot because it works and it is the least upsetting chemical for my catsand me. I also have cleared the yard which helps with ticks and vacuuming helps with fleas. Make sure to give the Frontline at the correct intervals especially in high flea season. One more thing for outdoor cat people when I lived in NM my cats did not have fleas. I believe this is because they rolled in the dirt which got rid of them. I know my cats love to roll in gravel too.

  • Don't waste your money on this product. I applied the recommended dose of Hartz to my yorkie Rambo. About a day later he starts vomiting and gets drowsy alot. I was going to go ahead and probably get another flea and tick product for Rambo. Plus it doesn't work. Buyer Beware.
Read This Before U Buy In 2005 the EPA canceled permission to use phenothrin in several flea and tick products at the request of the manufacturer Hartz Mountain Industries.[1][2] The products were linked to a range of adverse reactions including hair loss salivation tremors and numerous deaths in cats and kittens. In the short term the agreement called for new warning labels on the products. As of March 31 2006 the sale and distribution of Hartz's phenothrincontaining flea and tick products for cats has been terminated. However EPA's product cancellation order did not apply to Hartz flea and tick products for dogs and Hartz continues to use phenothrin in a concentration of 85.7% in many of its flea and tick products for dogs.[3]I bought this as a quick solution and thank heavens I read reviews before applying to my beautiful Yorkie.
Cheaper yes but complete waste~! I purchased this 3 pack at local store in April for regular price in WI where we didn't have a cold enough winter this year to kill some of these parasites. I applied first dose after removing 2 small deer ticks fro inside of ears. The package came with 3 doses and I continuously was removing ticks through the constant treatments. Many of them completely engorged dog ticks. I called the customer service number only to be told that the product was not a preventative to ticks and that I should be using flea/tick shampoo in conjuction. Ridiculous!! You buy these for your pet so you don't find yourself having to apply 6 different things. I did stupidly finish the treatments thinking it was just coincidental only to be removing at least one tick on the chin per week. Company does have MONEY BACK GUARANTY for those of you who don't know. Also another important tidbit of information is that most flea/tick medications work by having the flea bite which allows the pesticide to enter parasite and kill it. If flea/ tick season is bad where you reside and you'd like to avoid the bites all together the only product that claims to be a preventative product is the K9 Advantix.
** WARNING** Please do not use this product on your pet! Hartz flea and tick drops have been reported to BURN pets skin cause seizers vomiting and sometimes death.Dont believe me google it there are tons of web sites and pictures of pets with hairless burns down their back from using this product. If you love your pet dont go cheap!!! Get a vet recommended product.
Made problems worse! I bought this product because I noticed a few fleas on one of my dogs. They were not scratching or biting. They have never had fleas and I have always used HALO herbal dip. I ran out and could not get it at the local store so I just got his instead. After a few hours of applying this stuff they began to bite and scratch. They were biting and scratching the entire night and for the last several days. I am about to give my dogs a bath to wash the stuff off and I got some more herbal dip. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Buy some herbal did that is twice the price but I used my bottle for a good 8 months between two dogs before it ran out.
No Good!! Does not work at all!! Don't waste your money on this.I used 2 applications in a 2 week time frame and it still didn't work. Spend a little more money and get something better.
Kills pets not fleas We recently got a puppy and like so many people we decided to try this because it was so much cheaper than the good brands. Thankfully a family member works at a vet's office and quickly warned us of the danger to pets so we stopped using it after one treatment. Do a simple online search of Hartz kills pets and you will find many horror stories of people's cats and dogs being severely injured or killed because of this product. Don't take the risk spend the extra money and get a reputable brand.
DONT BUY ANY HARTZ PRODUCTS THESE PRODUCTS KILL!!!! DO NOT USE!!!!! This made my dog sick and countless others. I am so lucky he is still alive.[] get to know the victims and how awful this product really is.[]Sign this petition to help get this product off our shelves.
hartz products are deadly about 3 days after using the hartz flea and tick drops on my 2 dogs they began throwing up and lost their appetite. I began examning several possibilities and after reading reviews of the product online i now know exactly what it was. So buyer be ware. If you have any doubts then just google problems with Hartz products or go to hartzvictims.org and read about all these other people loosing their cats and dogs due to hartz products.
DO NOT USE This product does not work at all!!!! There are always live ticks found on our dog.

  • Mediocore product I thought using organics would help decrease exposure to chemicals but the product doesn't really work so ended up using other flea topical medication. Applied the spray and the following day the dog is still scratching and fleas could still be found crawling on my pet. I thought at least the fleas would be killed and my pet at least flea free for a couple of days. The odor of the spray is not offensive but do you want your pet smelling minty fresh.
smells way too strong I could smell this flea and tick spray before I even opened the box. While it isnt an unpleasant smell it is waaaaay too strong. As for its effectiveness it seemed to work if the fleas were directly sprayed individually.I couldnt get every flea. My pets still have fleas I had to wash it off of them because the smell was so strong it was making me sick to my stomach and one of my dogs also became sick.Thats my experience it may work for others but not for me. I wouldnt recommend it.
Didn't get to use it Amazon didn't pack & ship this spray safely & it leaked all over the place. I had to toss it out. It had a very strong smell that bothered my sinuses.
Works great so far I brought home a foster dog without applying Frontline. I was rushing and was not thinking about fleas. After a couple days I had many bites on my lower legs. While shopping I saw the bottle decided to try Richards Organics since I had previously had bought a product by this company and loved it.It has been about 4 days now and no biting. I sprayed my dogs with this and personally I love the scent. It does leave a light residue on the dogs coat that seems be gone now after a few days. If I do not have to use a chemical product I am very happy.BTW my bottle says NOT SAFE FOR CATS'.The bottle says it Kills Fleas & Ticks for up to 4 Weeks.
Works.but does contain strong smelling oils So many times I see negative reviews for this and other natural flea and tick products because of the smell. What do folks expect from a product containing peppermint oil clove oil thyme oil etc etc.? They smell strong because that is how they repel flea and ticks.Personally I would rather use natural products more frequently and deal with the odor than put poisonous insecticides on my GSD. Of course this is a personal choice that all pet owners will need to make.I just wonder if it's unfair to give a negative review because some people think it stinks. If it didn't repel flea and ticks then that would be another story. However don't say it doesn't work when you bathe the stuff off your pets because the smell is too strong for the people. My dog does try to roll around in the grass after I apply it outside. The smell is strong and I accept it and live with it because the bugs leave him alone and he is not itching from getting bitten up. I have not found any ticks on him and we do have a heavy deer population here. In fact he has dormant Lyme disease..
Mystery ingredients not organic not safe for cats Nice label. To look at it you'd think it was an upscale natural organic product of integrity. But to be sure I wanted to see the ingredients list since it's not listed here on Amazon. So I went to the site for Synergy Labs which manufactures the stuff. On the product description they state For dogs and cats over 12 weeks but looking at the partial ingredient list offered on the site I see that this is not at all safe for cats as it contains several essential oils. For those who don't know essential oils pose a unique toxicity risk to cats and can be quickly fatal as cats are not able to metabolize essential oils the way that humans dogs and other animals are able to do. In addition to this major blunder the ingredient list on Synergy Labs site was pathetically inadequate to even describe the actual ingredients. This is the ingredient list as offered on the site Peppermint oil eugenol clove oil cedar oil cinnamon oil rosemary oil inert ingredients.I have several gripes with this not the least of which is that none of these are actually mentioned as being organic much less certified organic. Another gripe To read this list you'd think the product was 100% essential oils which is certainly not true. Granted they mention in the product description that this product contains Chamomile and Aloe Vera extracts and contains No artificial color or fragrance but we still don't know the primary ingredients. There is something that composes the majority of the formula upwards of 60 to 90% of it in fact beyond the essential oils and extracts. What is this mystery ingredient? Water? Oil? What?Another gripe I suspect in their hurry to jump on the organics bandwagon they weren't paying close attention to that ingredient list and inadvertently listed the same ingredient twice eugenol and clove oil. At this point I don't know what bothers me most the cobby ingredient list? the irresponsible false claim that this is safe for cats when it's not? the deceptive suggestion that this product is organic when it's not? Or the pretty label which has apparently duped a lot of people into buying a product they believed was a natural organic product of integrity?Goes to show the important words are on the back of the label not the front.
GREAT product! i bought this at my local natural pet store it is cheaper here so i will be ordering from amazon in the future it is a great product. it is a stronger smellbut the smell is not chemicals that is very important. it is essential oils. i actually don't mind the smell and spray my kids/self when hiking or outdoors. it is much better than getting lyme disease since we have used it on our dog/selves we have had no tick incidences.
BEWARE! We used this product on our nowdeceased family petobviously it did not work well. We then purchased Richard's Organics Neem Oilthinking that would be a nontoxic safe solution. Were we wrong. Our beloved dog died within a week of applying the undiluted neem oilwe are devastated. Four different vets could not save her. She suffered from convulsions severe central nervous system dysfunction brain damage etc. It was the most tragic thing I have ever witnessed in all of my years being a pet owner. There is no known antidote to neem oil poisoning.
NOT for cats I ordered this product to use on my cats. The product description says it is for use on dogs AND cats. After doing some research on the ingredients I found that some of these essential oils are actually toxic to cats. Then after looking on the product label more carefully it does not say it is for cats but specifically says in very small print under the name it is for DOGS. I would NOT use this on a cat. We put a small amount on my cat before we knew better. It does have a terrible odor but I don't know if it works or not. If you have a dog go for it. Just wish the description would have been truthful and not said it is safe for cats.
Great alternative to the chemicals in other flea treatments My dog has permanent hair loss from using topical flea treatments such as Frontline plus. I bought this as well as the matching shampoo to try as a natural alternative. It works best if you wash your pet with the flea and tick shampoo first and follow up with a light spray of this product. Concentrating on the legs feet and under the tail. The smell isn't great but it is bearable. If your pet licks themselves compulsively I wouldn't recommend this but if your pet doesn't have extremely sensitive skin its fine. I also don't recommend it for cats as many essential oils can be toxic to cats.
