  • This does not work at all I put this on my 3 cats in April as I was looking for a natural way to get rid of the fleas. I can't believe the fleas didn't flee as I and the cats wanted to so desperately to get away from the smell. Needless to say the fleas did not flee but actually got worse. None of the cats have lasting adverse reactions but they had a strong opinion regarding the smell as did I. Do not waste your money on this.
Severe allergic reation!!! This product made my eyes sinuses and lips swell! My throat and lungs to burn. Redness and burning around the eyes. Red eyes. This was just from being around the product and breathing it in! Washed my dogs again and bedding. But did not eliminate the product and its smell. Would not recommend! Toxic to people most likely to dogs too. I threw the box away..but know that vanillin is an irritant and one other chemical ingredient I don't recall is too.
Avoid this product! It made me ill. I purchased this product at a local chain pet store and immediately put it on all three of my cats as directed. Oh my goodness what a noxious smell! At first I thought it was just Christmasy if a bit too much but the smell seems to get worse with time and it is very distinctly unpleasant. The cats were very unhappy and are an oily mess a full 24 hours later. I would wash it off them but they are acting very aggressive and angry and hiding out under beds. The whole house reeks but the worse part is that the fumes or the oil I got on me treating the cats are making me dizzy and nauseous. I woke up this morning with the room spinning and was so dizzy I could barely stumble to the bathroom in time for the vomiting. I thought it might be flu but I felt almost immediate relief when I went outside. I went out as planned and after being out of the house for only an hour I felt completely well it was like I hadn't been sick. Upon returning home hours later I again started feeling nauseous and developed a headache.
Very Pleased! I have been using this product for about a year now. I do apply all year long. Please follow the instructions on where to put the oil to keep the cat from ingesting after applying. My cat stays free from fleas I watch the calendar and retreat right before or at the 30 day mark. I use the natural defese shampoo on my doganother great product.I am free from the concern of putting chmicals on my pet that can cause cancers and neurological dysfunctions.**Final statement just because it is natural does not mean safe to ingest follow the instructions closely! There is even a 1800 number on the insert if you have problems.
Had to take my cat to the vet after using this product! We purchased this product from a different store but I'm posting my review everywhere I can! This product made my cat vomit and very lethargic. After reading the ingredients I see that clove oil is used. Clove oil BURNS skin. I also read online that peppermint oil is harmful to cats. The label also said that this product should not be used on humans or domestic animalsWhat the Hell!? You should where protective eye gear and gloves while using this product. If I have to suitup to use this productWhy in the world should I be putting it on my cat! Next time I'll know to read my labels and do more research And to never by a product with 'Sentry' written on the label.
Fleas no more We were given two kittens a little over a year ago. A few months later we bought a couch at a yard sale leading to a flea infestation. We tried every product imaginable before Sentry Natural Defense. We've been using this product on them once a month for almost a year. The flea problem is gone and we have two happy cats. They are Calico and have a little bit of white around their neck area. With any flea product they had a little bit of staining in the white parts. I wouldn't consider it a problem since it happened before but a warning for those who have white cats.
    do not purchase!
Very strong smelling! So I applied this to my cats BEFORE I read reviews. Afterward I read all the reviews. I washed my cats thoroughly with Baby Shampoo. It was VERY strong smelling and it made one of my cats very irritated at the eyes. I am hoping that bathing them within an hour of applying the stuff will help reduce any negative effects that my cats may experience. I love them very much and I hope I am not the cause of liver or kidney failure. Right now they are drying themselves off from the bath. I'll post again in a few days if they suffer sever effects. If they don't this will be my only post. I don't suggest you buy this product if it has all of these awful reviews and has hurt and killed so many cats.
If zero stars were possible I would! Like others I wanted to find a natural alternative for my indoor cat JUST in case the dogs brought in some fleas. After appying this product 2 hours later I heard my cat doing a guteral growl and in places she never usually goes. I didn't think much about it until I went to feed her and she was not interested That NEVER happens. I chalked it up to her being mad about the oily substance and went to bed. The next morning I found huge clump of fur all over the house and found my poor cat had SEVERE chemical burns where this poduct was applied.
DO NOT EVER USE!!!! I bought this product at Pet Smart!!! I thought it would be a really good considering it had only essential oils in it. Well think again!! This stuff made my smaller female 2 years old foam at the mouth and freak out. She was a kitty I had never met. It took me and my mother to bathe her. I bathed my other 3 cats as well another large male and started to foam by the time it was his turn for a bath. I will never use this stuff again and I returned it immediately. We told Pet Smart they are selling a product that is absolutely toxic to cats. We got a full refund and went to a holistic pet store nearby. So far our cats are doing ok no burns or hair loss I will be watching it for a few more days and if anything happens we will take them to the vet.

  • Weeks later it's still working Usually there are a lot of fleas and ticks in the yard around this time of year Mid June. Not this time. I sprayed the yard around the end of May during the evening and there are no fleas or ticks jumping on me. I also let the cat out for sunshine. No fleas or ticks jumping on her either. I'm enjoying it while it lasts. Hope it lasts the rest of the summer. P.S. Remember to spread this stuff around like a wild child so you can cover the promised 4500 sqr ft. When hooked into full pressure from your garden hose this stuff will disappear in a few minutes. You can tell it's spreading because of the bubbles and foam which is from the sodium lauryl sulfate my only pet peeve about this product. Is the SLS really necessary in killing the fleas and ticks? I'm guessing it's the best carrier mechanism for the natural ingredients. Nothing has gotten sick or died yet so I guess it's OK as long as you don't spray this stuff in your eyes. Wear goggles when spreading this esp. if you're clumsy.
Good product This product worked great getting rid of my flea problem. I have to dogs and the fleas were killing them. Sprayed the yard once with this product and the fleas diminished greatly. Fast shipping.
Goodbye to ticks This year 2012 seemed to be a bad year for ticks here in north Jersey. Had a few doubts about using a natural product for ticks but decided to try Vet's Best. After the first spray in our paddock we found one tick on one of our dogs. Decided to try it again and resprayed a second time and from there on the ticks did not reappear. This product has a pleasant aroma and goes on easily using the hose sprayer and I would definitely use it again without hesitation.

  • read reviews before buying anything! While I was out grocery shopping I noticed this product and figured why notit was cheap and the brand name sounded familiar. What a mistake I made..First of all the product smells AWFULI didn't expect it to smell like rainbows and perfume but even with a stuffy nose I almost gagged. I'm 100% sure that if you breathed it in for too long you would pass out. Being cautious I only used a littleI scrubbed her everywhere aside from the face/ears.Almost immediately after I had the most awful headache I've had in years accompanied by intense stomach painsI didn't use gloves but I didn't lick my hands or inhale the product like a narcotic.Through the throbbing headache I decided to research the company and was horrified by what I foundI can't believe they're allowed to sell products! The chairman and CEO is one of the richest people in the country and profits daily from products like this. The worst part? A flea jumped off her fur and back on and she was still scratchingobviously it didn't do ANYTHING against the fleas. It's hard for me to believe that anyone who rated this product highly isn't a Hartz representativenot only did she smell awful but the product did not work. It didn't kill fleas but if I had been in contact with any more of it it would have certainly killed me.There is NO warning label on this product other than 'keep out of eyes'. It doesn't even have directions or instructions so you don't know how much you're supposed to use. I'm just thankful I didn't use any more than I didmy dog and I are in good health but it was definitely a wakeup call.
    HARTZ KILLS YOUR PET
Have used for years works great ! I have used this product for over 20 years on several very long lived Dobermans. It is one of the few that keep the flys off for weeks after a bath keeps their coats shiny and flake free. Complete rinsing and drying after any shampoo is a must! Stopping your dog from licking itself is also very important following any shampoo or treatment!People should realize all products that kill fleas are TOXIC or they would not kill the fleas! Yes even NATURAL products! Dog Bane chocolate arsnic lead rabies and plague are toxic and deadly to dogs and completely and totaly natural.
Warning on Hartz Flea Products Before using any flea products from Hartz read this website first.www.hartzvictims.orgIf we had read the website before we used Hartz Flea Control perhaps our beloved Bassett Hound would still be alive. Also read the revealing reviews on Amazon for Hartz flea control products. If this company Hartz truly cared about our pets they would have recalled their flea control products. Our Bassett Hound died a few days after using the Hartz Flea Control product. Hartz claimed that their product did not kill our dog. They have a Vet who works for Hartz that took our call they wanted to test our dog but the dog was already buried by then. Your cannot imagine the grief and guilt and we feltthen we found the website www.hartzvictims.org.Be cautious before you buy from Hartz.
Good Shampoo Been using this product for years in combination with a flea collar. Never had a dog die get sick or have fleas or ticks.
    Excellent Shampoo!
Very Good Product This is a shampoo that used to be easy to find in most stores locally! It always seems to me that most of the good products that actually work get removed and or replaced after you get used to buying them and depending on them to be there! This is definitely some of the best over the counter dog shampoo that I have ever found and I was tickled too death to find it on Amazon.

  • Noooooo! I hate giving bad reviews but I bought for all 3 of my dogs 3 different weights and it didn't kill ONE flea. They are still crawling all over my dogs 3 weeks later. So Sad.
BioSpot for dogs I've used this product for cats in the past and found it to be as effective and far more reasonably priced than other flea products. So far it seems to be doing the job on my puppy.
Does nothing. This product is completely ineffective. You'd be better off taking the cash out of your wallet and setting fire to it.
bio spot doesn't work This product didn't kill one flea on my poor dog. I had to make her wait 20 days after application before I could put on another product. This product caused much suffering for both my dog and our family.
If fleas are your only problem BioSpot works great! If you are only dealing with flea BioSpot works wonderfully! When I moved to South Carolina my pup immediately got infested with fleas and after doing some research I decided to try BioSpot. It worked wonders in a very short period of time and I never had a flea problem again in South Carolina and most other bugs didn't bother her either. However we moved again to a high tickpopulation area in Virginia and BioSpot didn't work quite as well for ticks. While my dog still doesn't have fleas she has a tick issue for sure. For example in the last four days I picked 16 ticks off the poor little dog. While most of these ticks were dead when I got them off they had still bit her and embedded in her skin which isn't good considering the bacteria many of them carry. I plan on trying K9 Advantix now to try to repel ticks instead of just kill them after they hang on to my dog for a while.Bottom line If you just need to get rid of fleas and keep general nuisance bugs away BioSpot works really well and is cost effective.
biospot for dogs have used this product for several years on 5 to 85 pound dogs it does not irritate their skin and works great but you do have to follow the directions to get good results.
Not too impressed This product does not work as long as it should but it does work for about 2 weeks. That's how long I didn't see a live flea on my dog.
    POOR DOG!!
Worked better than Frontline and Advantage! This is all I use for flea/tick prevention. A couple of years ago my small yorkiepoo got fleas b/c we forgot the Frontline for one month. I went to the vet to buy Advantage and after 2 applications she still had live fleas on her. I finally got some Bio Spot and within hours of applying it I couldn't find any more fleas on her. Since then 2 years it's all we use on our dog. With monthly applications we've never had another flea on our dogs.

  • Does the job What can I say about yard and kennel spray? It does the job and 96 ounces lasts a while. I'm giving it five stars because I don't have anything to compare it to.
Worked ok This product was not all I hoped for. It seemed to promise being more or less as good as a professional exterminator which is certainly not the case. It did work for killing the fleas in our carpet more or less with a lot of vacuuming and laundering thrown in there. It didn't work as well outside and seemed to require a very thick application to kill anything out there. We had to go over the back yard with something stronger although as I said it seemed to work inside. It stinks but that is par for the course with pesticides. We followed the directions and left until it had dried out then came back and aired out the apartment before coming back inside. We don't have pets but the children had no ill effects from being around it. So I would recommend this product for use indoors but perhaps not outdoors. As an aside we purchased it for the fleas and it worked well for killing them but had no effect on spiders nor on carpet beetles or on the ants nest outside so if you have a problem with those bugs as well you'd likely be better off getting a stronger spray that will take care of all of them at once.

  • Doesn't work for my dog I used to use Advantage and it's been working well. Now I've run out of it so I decide to give Zodiac Flea & Tick Spray a try. To my dismay my dog got 3 ticks in one week after using this product. It's totally useless for me. I think I'll either go back to Advantage or try to use Frontline next.
Repels fleas This is a great product. Definitely prevent fleas. My dog does not scratch for a couple of months when I use this on her.
    Wasted my money
The Smell is awful!!!! I purchased this product for my shih tzu. The smell from this product is awful!!! After I sprayed her with this product she just sat down on the floor and put her down. I guess she didn't like the smell either. I'm not sure how effective this product is but I can't get over the smell. Back to store for me.
Best flea/tick spray Having owned cats and dogs for most of my life this is one product I've relied on for flea/tick problems. I have tried several of the spottype products and some of my chihuahuas have had problems with them. Needless to say I won't subject them to those treatments again. Zodiac Flea & Tick Spray for dogs cats kittens and puppies has been terrific. I like treating them only when there is a problem and not all the time. It's also nice to have a product that can be used on all of my pets. This spray kills fleas on contact and does not have a particularly bad smell. When it dries it's almost odorless and that's another nice feature. This is a brand that I've relied on for over 20 years and none of my pets have had any bad reactions to it.
Excellent for puppies This product is perfect for puppies. My son just adopted an Aussie and tick season is beginning. As a young puppy we were concerned about the safeness of the product. We used a towel sprayed with with Zodiac wiped it over our puppy and found very few ticks. We felt that it was safe and effective! The breeder actually recommended we use the Zodiac.
Great product we have tried them all!!! Honestly we have tried alot of products to keep ticks off our cat. He is an indoor/outdoor cat and was bringing ticks into our home. The Frontline would kill the ticks once they bite him but not keep ticks out of is fur. This product has done that for us. My only con is that it does not last the entire month. Only about 3 weeks so we are unsure what to do with the last week.
