Decent product change in flea resistance? I have a young lab mix who has been on flea medication for the majority of her life since we live in the South ie. bugs all year round. I started using Advantix II because I wanted her to be covered for fleas ticks and mosquitoes since she spends a lot of time outdoors. For the first year and a half this medication worked great. I never saw any fleas on her though we did find some ticks after hiking trips. However we have very large tick populations so I thought the medicine was doing its job even though we found a few.
Works on ticks. My dogs run around in the brush daily. I can tell when the month since an application has gone by since the ticks start appearing again. Works great.Have never had any fleas so can't comment on that.
newer is better ! Product was new when i decided to try itadvantix 2for my greyhoundwhowile living in florida loves to lay in sand and sun. this is a perfect combination for pests. this new advantix is much better than 1i won't use anything else it's great plus it kills ticks. v.g.
Can not be without it We have been using K9 Advantix on our dogs for the last 1.5 years. We selected this product when frontline plus seemingly stopped working out of the blue. We are please with how Advantix keeps the ticks and fleas at bay and will continue with this product.
So far so good. I was told to go with Advantix over Frontline by the Vet Tech at my Vet's office even though they exclusively sold Frontline. she said she wasn't allowed to tell me that becuase of certain agreements but that she as a whole has had much more success and that individuals to whom she shared this advice had agreed. I then asked around a little more and the general consensus was that Advantix protected against a few more bugs and was more effective than Frontline. My dog has never had flea/ tick problems so I really can't notice a difference but even if it is the placebo effect for me I want to ensure my pup has the best.Since they were the exact same price on Amazon I decided to give it a try. The only thing I dislike is that there is more medicine to be applied and that results in more of hair fur soaking up the solution. While this is not a big deal I always dislike the feel of her fur for a few days.Overall I would recommend this product and give my stamp of approval to it.
It Works! This is the only product that I have used that keeps flea and ticks away the mosquitoes do not seem to like it either they my buzz around though and try to find a clear spot near the face. My dog is large so I apply all the way from shoulder to tail. My dog doesn't like me to apply the drops even though I apply small drops since I apply the distance. 6+ years ago prior to using K9 Advantix I used another brand BIO my dog ended up getting a bad case of fleas. This was the only product that got rid of all the fleas within 3 days and prevented any spread. Haven't seen a flea or tick since.
great product We previously used the competitor product but tried switching after all four of our animals got fleas. I can't tell you how much I hate fleas we struggled for a month and a half to clear the house of them. Each time we thought we were in the clear one of the dogs or cats would start scratching and we started all over. The final treatment that ended up working included the switch from Frontline to Advantix and we won't go back no fleas in the carpet or ticks in the bedding.
Way better than Frontline Way better than FrontlineWas using Frontline on my two dogs black lab & German Shepherd and they were still getting ticks like crazy.
Same product good price Bayer K9 Advantix II is the same quality product that I'd purchase at my vet just at a better price.
BEWARE!!! I bought this after using the original advantix on one dog for 4 years Golden/Australian Shepard mix and the other dog for 3 years Saint bernard/ australian cattle dog mix with no problems. The first use of Advantix II resulted in the dogs itching hair loss in massive clumps all over the body foaming at the mouth and all around uncomfortable. I initially thought they got into something on our walk the day before because how could they react this badly after having the original Advatix for so many years. So a month later I tried it again and I have regretted it ever since. Their coats have never been the same and it has changed our golden retriever/ Australian shepard mix. When I discussed with vet they informed me that the formulation of the Advantix they get is better than what you can buy elsewhere. Bayer would not admit to that when I questioned them on selling a different quality of product under the same product name. They also will not contact me back about a refund on unused product.
